Adkins, 15, makes national program

Henley Adkins, 15, of Moorpark is heading to Mundelein, Ill., in November for the Emerging Athletes Program Level III National Training Program.

Adkins is a local equestrian who trains at Elvenstar Farms in Moorpark with Jim Hagman.

Hundreds applied and only 12 riders from around the country made it to the finals.

The program is sponsored by the United States Hunter Jumper Association.
