Barbara grew up in Oklahoma and began riding at the
age of five at a hunter/jumper stable. Barbara rode
competitively from the age of eight and because she
loved it so much, she attended Stephens College where
she could continue riding competitively as she worked
toward her degree in journalism.
After college, Barbara had a career as a television
director in Miami. She decided to be a full-time mom
after the birth of her first child and dedicated herself
to her kids and their interests. Among other things,
Barbara became a full-time soccer and softball coach.
This experience game her terrific insights into teaching
youngsters with the proper balance of positive reinforcement
and competitiveness.
