22 Aug Equestrian Scholarship offered by LAHJA
The LAHJA Horsemastership competition is a great college scholarship competition for all juniors to participate in. There are 3 phases, a written phase, riding phase (submitted by video) and a hands on phase. Each phase will have a winner as well as an overall winner. Level I is for more entry level participants and offers prizes but no scholarship funds. Level II winners are eligible for college scholarship money. There is up to $5000.00 in college scholarship to be given this year. One new aspect to the competition is the written phase which is being held through the USHJA Quiz Challenge allowing competitors to not only participate in the LAHJA Horsemastership, but also in the National competition which sends winners to National Finals and A chance to watch the EAP (Emerging Athletes Program) National finals. Competitors must complete level one and two of the quiz, however the 11/under division will be required to complete only level one for the LAHJA competition. They will be required to complete level two for the USHJA program. I strongly encourage junior riders to participate and I will be available to help with any of the phases.

September 1 Registration & Fee Due
September 1 Written test (HQC) must have been completed by September 1.
October 1 Riding phase submission to Judge My Ride is due
October 15 Schedule for Hands-on and Written Phases posted on the LAHJA website October 22 Hands-on Phase October 20 Hands-on Phase Clinic and Q&A
December 16 LAHJA awards banquet – attendance is required of the top three finishers
