27 Jun Title: The Winter Horses Author: Philip Kerr
The Winter Horses, written by Phillip Kerr, is a heartwarming and heartbreaking story about love, loss, courage, tragedy, and the horrors of war. Set during the holocaust, this book tells the tale of a young, Jewish girl running from the Nazis, the kind man who helps her, and the two amazing horses who save her. The story manages to bring the reader to tears from the sadness that is so painfully abundant, while simultaneously making them smile from the beauty inside the hearts of the main characters. After reading the story, I had a better understanding of the saying, “One death is a tragedy, a thousand is a statistic.” The Winter Horses shows us the pain, the loss, and the sorrow of the Holocaust. Overall, this is my favorite book, and I highly recommend it. However, considering the subject matter, it is not a book to be taken lightly, so be prepared for this beautiful and tragic story to bring you to tears multiple times. I give this book five out of five horses. Mr. Phillip Kerr, thank you for writing this book
